Ugh..I hate vacations…

We got back from vacation in early September and we have all finally recovered.  I should be careful here.  I’m very fortunate to have had a month to spend Europe traveling with my wife and our boys.  We were in London, York, Edinburgh and Glasgow and then over to Helsinki and Turku to visit family.  It was a lot of fun.  Where it all went south was our return flights home.

The storms caused delays, lightening struck the plane, mechanics had to drive up to Milwaukee from Chicago to inspect the damage.  After being on the tarmac for nearly 4 hours, we were cleared for a flight back to Chicago.  We arrived after our connecting flight had left.  After another couple hours in a line, we got our hotel information for the night and flight info for the next day.  At this point, we had been away for nearly 48 hours and we were all speaking gibberish.  Our stay at Hyatt in Chicago was blissful and flight home the next day was uneventful.  We arrived home 9 hours before the kids were due at school the next day!  Aren’t we supposed to return from vacation rested and restored?!

Anyway, it was great to get home and get back into the shop.  The kid’s MTB that I’m working on is progressing.  The tubes are mitered and ready for heat.   Hopefully i’ll get that brazed up in the next week or so.  Also, I have started on a special track bike project which I’m really excited about.
